Canon Develops Action Camera That Works In Low Light

After realising the amazing growth action camera and feeling queasy missing out totally on the segment, Canon is setting up a new imaging division focused on developing high grade robust tiny square camera capable of handling extreme condition and in low light.

Leveraging on its years of innovation in optical and sensor technology, the company has developed its first complete product the MM100-WS, a compact camera size of a wedding ring case. (40mm x 40mm). The camera will also be supplemented with upcoming modules that enhance dust and moisture resistance and durability needed for a wide range of applications. It can capture images in low-light environments with as little as 1 lux of illumination.

For creators, the company will open up the API giving access and customise to utilise the camera for a wide range of solutions. With the MM100, Canon is expanding the usage of the camera to beyond just extreme sport videos but also for monitoring narrow spaces, piping inspections, dash cams, video content creation and as a support tool for a wide variety of occupations.
