Cable Cuts Identified As Cause For Unifi Disruption

Folks in Ampang and Keramat, KL who have been suffering slow or no connectivity over their TM service namely Unifi and Streamyx can blame an accidental cable cut in the area as the cause for their dismay. The incident which occurred over 4th last week has been rectified and all effected areas should have their services restored.

Telekom Malaysia has released a statement with regards to the latest disruption:

The service disruption impacting TM internet and voice subscribers in Ampang and Keramat was due to an accidental cable cut caused by roadworks in Keramat that happened on 4 December 2017. Immediate remedial actions was taken to ensure our customers are not heavily affected by the cable cut.

As a result majority of the affected services are already back online and full restoration of all impacted services has been completed.

Disruption to services is unexpected if they have to do with poor road work handling and unscrupulous contractors not getting their ground clearance documentation properly studied.  For those who have been experiencing slow speeds, should get in touch with TM and have it checked, there are many possible causes and technicians can assist in restoring the service if they are due to technical settings. You can also check your speeds by using free speedtest sites like Ookla’s www.speedtest.net
