If you, like me, grew up in the 90s, you probably watched High School Musical. In fact, it was one of the very first movies I saw that made me question ‘Wait, are people my age supposed to look like that?’. And now, according to Collider, the cast from High School Musical will be reuniting for the first time to perform the iconic “We’re All In This Together”, from their homes. We’re still in the midst of a pandemic, so they’ll be performing virtually, from home, on ABC’s upcoming The Disney Family Singalong special.
Some of the returning cast include Vanessa Hudgens, Monique Coleman, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu (what happened to this guy?), Lucas Grabeel and the ever popular star of High School Musical, Zac Efron. I’m of course, most excited to see a buff, jacked Efron sing his heart out with the cast that made memories for a generation. Did you see him in Baywatch? Dude was JACKED.
The Disney Family Singalong airs on ABC Friday morning in the U.S., so for us Malaysians, we’re going to have to wait for clips and videos to go up online. But, they’re probably going to do it so we can bask in either the awkwardness of Efron, or nostalgia for all us 90’s kids.
The virtual event will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, and features Donny Osmond performing “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan, Auli’l Cravalho singing “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana, Thomas Rett with “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” from Frozen, as well as Christina Aguilera covering “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” from The Lion King.
