Boost Cashless Payment Wallet Receives Highest Validation

Opting to replace physical cash, Boost the digital mobile payment solution from Axiata has been growing its base at an exceptional rate, a testament to the demands of this new way of paying for items by mobile users.

Prime Minister Dato Sri Mohd Najib Razak has been on the forefront in driving the nations towards digitisation across all sectors of the country including the adoption of digital finance system. With the blessing of Bank Negara, there’s more than 3 dozen ewallet license issued and already a handful have been very active deploying their service. At the inaugural Axiata Group townhall with over 1000 employees under the group gathered at Arena Axiata in Bukit Jalil, the PM was invited to witness the launch if the cashless ecosystem by Boost with some of its partners such as SME Corp, AmBank, PLUS, UTM and UITM.

Boost which started operation early last year now boasts a member base of 1.7 million users with online and offline merchants in over 8000 locations. It serves the youth segment and mass consumers to merchants at selected pasar malam, food trucks, food courts and across various industries such as F&B, entertainment, transportation, online shopping and bookstores to name a few. As a lifestyle application, users can perform services such as buying prepaid top ups and digital vouchers as well as gifting them, free cash transfers and even “Go Dutch” with its unique split bills feature. They also get instant cash back when using the service with rewards.

 

Acknowledging Axiata as one of the leading drivers of Malaysia’s digital economy, the Prime Minister expressed his support of the Group in spearheading innovative digital and financial inclusion initiatives, especially in addressing small and micro businesses in Malaysia.
