BlackBerry commented on the move: “We are extremely disappointed in their decision as we know so many users love these apps. We fought back to work with WhatsApp and Facebook to change their minds, but at this time, their decision stands.”

Facebook said that 99.5 percent of smartphone sales today are covered by mobile phone operating systems from Apple, Google and Microsoft. The downside is, Facebook doesn’t want to continue supporting BlackBerry’s OS. This move will be costly for the company as sales is predicted to decay, because users today are very well planted to their smartphone browsing through social media apps.

” Despite this, we have worked hard to ensure our end users have the best experience in light of this decision, and are continuing to search for alternate solutions,” said a spokesperson for BlackBerry.

From what we expected back in 2009 to be a great hit to mobile phone users’ is now just buried in the dust even further. With constant brands of new smartphones being unveiled round the clock, BlackBerry still remains positive about the move and will remain being in the fight against competitors to bring the best for its end-users.
