Cutting-edge gaming technology company, Black Shark announced today the South East Asian launch of its latest mobile gaming device, the Black Shark 2 Pro, for passionate gamers during an exclusive event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The sequel to the Black Shark 2 (Which we really liked btw) is updated to reflect the times. Well, pretty much at least. For one, the phone is one of the first phones to be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, on top of the 12+256GB with UFS 3.0 Technology setup it already had.
The Black Shark 2 Pro also sports a direct touch multilayer liquid cooling system inside the phone, dubbed direct touch liquid cooling system 3.0, which can reduce the temperature of the core CPU by 14 degrees, pretty much securing the solid performance that the Snapdragon 855+ chipset brings.
The company tops it off with legendary gaming control, with an even lower screen latency than its predecessor, which already had the worlds lowest mind you. The response speed has been optimised to a mere 34.7 ms, which is well ahead of the 49 ms on the ROG Phone 2. It is also the world’s first smartphone to implement the 240Hz touch report rate for the synchronised action of ten fingers as well as sporting an impressive touch precision rate of as low as 0.3mm, allowing for the ultimate precision.
That’s what I liked about the Black Shark 2; the devil is in the details with them, and it looks like they stuck with that on the pro version as well. One thing that may raise a few eyebrows though, is the glaring lack of a 120 or even 90Mhz refresh rate for the screen.
The Black Shark 2 Pro sticks to the same 60Mhz refresh rate as its predecessor, which may be a turn off for some gamers. To make up for this, the company utilises a 6.39 inch AMOLED screen by Samsung which is still rather impressive. With most mobile games only being able to support up to 60Mhz anyway, the company sees the higher refresh rate as unnecessary, for now at least.
Three models of the Black Shark 2 Pro will be available for Malaysian gamers. The Shadow Black, the
Iceberg Grey and special edition Gulf Blue. The company is teaming up with Shopee again to be the exclusive e-commerce partner for the phone. Shopee will carry two variants, Black Shark 2 Pro (8GB + 128GB) and (12GB + 256GB), both offered in two colors: Shadow Black and Iceberg Gray.
The device is retaling for RM 2499 for the 8GB +128GB variant and RM 2999 for the 12GB+256GB variant. If you’re looking to get it online, it is on sale exclusively on Shopee starting today. Maxis and other operators will also have the device in stores so look out for it.
