It’s time to say goodbye to the beloved BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) app. The consumer version of the app is ending its service at the end of May. The reason is because of fleeting users over the past years even though the app was revitalised with features like Uber hailing and video calling.

“We are proud of what we have built to date…The technology industry however, is very fluid, and in spite of our substantial efforts, users have moved on to other platforms, while new users proved difficult to sign on,” the company wrote in a blog. “Though we are sad to say goodbye, the time has come to sunset the BBM consumer service, and for us to move on,”quoted Emtek, the company that’s running BBM.

BBMe, the enterprise version of the app is still available. If you really want to use BBM, get the enterprise version for free on Android and iOS but there is a $2.50 subscription fee every six months.
