Belkin’s SmartHome Brand, Wemo, Expands Product Portfolio

Wemo, Belkin’s smart home product brand has two new smart switch products in store, namely, the Mini Smart Plug and the Dimmer Light Switch.

The first is a smaller version of the previous Wemo Switch. Despite the size difference, the Wemo Mini Smart Plug maintains all the same features as the original but is specifically designed to be stackable in multiple units. This allows for two smart plugs in a single outlet. Wemo Mini works with Amazon Echo, Google Home as well as Nest Learning Thermostat’s Home and Away modes.

The Wemo Dimmer, on the other hand is a smart dimming light switch that brings real intelligence to lighting. It includes all the original features of the Wemo Light Switch but adds new ones. Night Mode, for instance, prevents harsh lights at night and a customised bulb calibration.

This allows you to use the app to customise any bulb type, including incandescents, LEDs and CFLs.

Wemo Mini will be available for pre-order online starting today for an MSRP of US$34.99, and in stores later in January. The Wemo Dimmer will be available later this year.
