It is confirmed BBC’s Grand Theft Auto will star the “boy who lived” Daniel Radcliffe, however the series will not be about sequences of the games but rather a one-off docu-drama about the games development and creators. Featuring alongside will be Rockstar Games co founder Sam Houser and Bill Paxton as Jack Thompson the attorney who campaigned against the video game franchise who is known for his anti-videogame activism.
The drama is being developed under the working title Game Changer and will focus on issues involving around violence in videogames and the cultural impact they have on society. With big heavyweight names tied to the series, BBC hopes to attract higher level of audiences and create awareness of the possible negative impact these games have on young people.
