According to Immigration Department’s director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali, the MyOnline Passport application introduced last year (September 2017) for passport renewal has been receiving a tepid response.

Also according to him, until this month, there were only about 10,000 applications received through the system out of the 2.5 million applications received by the department a year (20668 applicants as of time of reporting based on the photo above).

He said,

“Hence, we need to educate the public to use the online system.

“Although it will take three days to process, it helps to reduce congestion at the immigration offices, especially during school holidays.

It is a fairly simple system. I would suggest applicants log on to the site here to begin application. Why queue?
