Avanade has appointed Megawaty Khie as its new Regional Managing Director for Southeast Asia, effective immediately. In this role, she will drive the growth of the company’s business and strengthen Avanade’s position as the leading Microsoft solutions provider in the region, including Malaysia. Megawaty will also lead a team of digital professionals across Southeast Asia, combining global scale with local expertise to create value for customers and communities in the AI era.
Based in Singapore, Megawaty will report to Bhavya Kapoor, President for Asia Pacific at Avanade. Kapoor expressed confidence in Megawaty’s leadership, citing her strong track record and deep knowledge of Southeast Asian markets as key assets for the company’s continued growth. “We are thrilled to be welcoming Megawaty to Avanade, particularly at a time when businesses are embracing digital innovation and AI to transform their operations,” Kapoor said.
Megawaty, who joins Avanade from Google, where she led Channels and Strategic Partnerships for Google Cloud in Southeast Asia, brings with her 30 years of experience in leadership roles at major companies such as Microsoft, SAP, IBM, HP, Dell, and Singtel. She is also known for her role in launching Google’s Cloud Region in Jakarta. Commenting on her appointment, she stated, “I’m a strong proponent of the role technology plays in unlocking potential, and I look forward to making a positive impact for our clients, partners, and communities in Southeast Asia.”
Avanade has continued to expand its presence in Malaysia, launching its Digital Innovation Studio and Generative AI Lab in Kuala Lumpur, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. The company has also introduced new Microsoft-powered AI services to support mid-market organisations in the country.
