OK good. Now get you car keys and drive to mums. Or get a Grab, or hoverboard or fly or however, go see mum.
Speaking of which, how would transport change? We already see a lot of buzz around self driving technology – with many companies setting a goal to get fully autonomous cars on the road by 2020. What if we could day dream further?
Well, lately we’ve been seeing repost of a Hankook concept of how the future will look like. The original video was released December last year, but it’s starting to make the rounds in social media again.
Technology has been changing – but not our tyres, and we are still stuck driving on relatively flat surfaces. Imagine you could ride that segway looking thing up your mum’s house?
She’ll probably be screaming for you to be careful, and that she’ll chase you down with a rotan or something if you broke anything in the house. Just be careful around your parent’s valuables ok?
Bonus for today, if you’re having dinner, mum probably would judge you very hard if you start paying more attention to your phone. Here’s a solution.
Called the light phone, it’s nicknamed the anti-smartphone. Why? It can’t connect to apps, send texts, or take pictures. It can’t do anything else except receive and make phone calls. It stores up to 9 speed dial numbers – so don’t worry if you don’t want to start remembering phone numbers.
The phone has only the most basic elements: a palm-sized handset, a simple LCD display and a numerical keypad, and is available to pre-order for $150. Oh and it runs on 2G GSM (Please read more below for writer rambles).
It sure looks interesting. but. but. BUT. I can totally get the really old bricks for waaaaaaaaay cheaper, and while it can’t connect to internet, or even load any apps, it runs 2G, makes calls, text and has Snake (or similar variants of mobile games). Urm.
I guess I’ll shut up now and actually go spend time with my mum.
