With the foreign exchange rate in countries going haywire ever since oil price tumbled and Trump winning the US election, American company’s are having trouble with customers in many parts of the world paying for services in dollar denomination.
Providers on software and app have already resorted to local denomination for their services, now Apple the biggest appstore market is changing the prices on selected regions including Malaysia to pricing, in local currency. With ringgit taking a beating the past 6 months hovering at 4.45 to the dollar as of the date of this post, consumers who shop or subscribing to services on the iOS platform can look forward to affordable pricing with the new move.
Developers who have their apps set in those countries will also be paid in their respective currency where the region uses local monetary value instead of US dollars. The approach will offer some respite for consumers.
Countries include, Egypt, Pakistan, Vietnam, Tanzania, Qatar, Nigeria, Philippine and Kazakhtan,
