If anyone of you plan to go skiing or snowboarding up in the mountains in Hokkaido or the Swiss Alps this winter, its best advised you bring your latest Apple Watch along. Not a common a sport by Malaysians unless you’re those blessed with riches beyond any of our wildest dreams and every December take your private plane on a rendezvous to the peaks for an European thrill, hitting the snowy slopes and making the sharp descent can now be tracked, monitored and data stored.
Apple has released an update that allows the Apple Watch Series 3 to track activities which can now record runs, see vertical descent and other stats, and contribute active calorie measurements directly to the Activity app. Developers are using the built-in GPS and altimeter as well as custom workout APIs released in watchOS 4.2 to enable tracking of specialised metrics.
