September is clearly the month of Apple after it launched its much-anticipated iPhone 8 alongside other devices and accessories. One such smartphone that gained plenty of traction over the last 24 hours was the Apple iPhone X, or the iPhone 10. The anniversary edition features many industry first’s like abolishing its usual Home button and having an edge-to-edge display.

The iPhone 10 also featured new facial recognition software, which diminishes the need for a fingerprint sensor. By placing your face in front of the phone, the software can determine who is looking at it and unlock itself. Craig Federighi, Apple’s Vice President of Software Engineering was on stage to showcase this innovative feature. To quote Federighi, “unlocking it is as easy as looking at it and swiping up.”

Sadly, that wasm’t the case as the iPhone 10 didn’t recognise Federighi and forwarded him to the passcode page.

Luckily, Apple still have until 3 November 2017 to work out all the bugs before it hits the shelves.
