Apple is extending the refund period for the latest Apple Watch from two weeks to 45 days. Apple’s electrocardiogram(ECG) app seems to be having issues with the sensor in the watch. Hence, Apple announced a refund available to users who are looking forward to make use of the ECG app in the near future. The refund request is to be done through Apple Support and not Apple Stores.

Currently, Apple only announced the availability of the ECG app in the US. Having a watch capable of using ECG is a welcome feature but the company advised the public to not rely on the app fully. Users of the watch are recommended to consult doctors before they can rely on the app.

The ECG sensor will require about 30 seconds to detect any irregular rhythm in your heart. This may seem like a long process but we can expect Apple to improve the ECG feature over time. Apple’s upcoming ECG app will make use of the crown and the crystal contact on the back of the watch.
