It was a flurry of announcements in WWDC, with hardware and software updates – as well as new products. Amongst that – one thing that has gone slightly under the radar over the excitement of new hardware is the discount for iCloud.
Apple scrapped the 1 TB option, offering only three options for iCloud pricing – at $0.99 (RM3.90) per month for 50GB of storage, $2.99 (RM11.90) per month for 200GB, and $9.99 per month for 2TB. Free storage is stuck at 5GB for now. Meanwhile the 2TB iCloud storage plan pricing has been halved— from $19.99 a month to $9.99. (RM39.90) This replaces the now-defunct 1TB plan that was previously offered at that price point.
Apple also announced that family members using iCloud Family Sharing together will be able to split a single subscription for iCloud storage across every member of the family in iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra.
The 2TB plan is available now at the new price point, and any users who had been subscribed to the 1TB plan for $9.99 (RM39.90) per month will automatically be upgraded to the 2TB plan.
