According to the folks at WCCFtech, AMD has discontinued their Gaming Evolved application, no longer distributing it and with no plans of supporting it either. The app began 3 years ago, and was introduced as an optimisation service for video games around the time AMD launched its Radeon 200-series GPUs (which were largely refreshes of their final HD series cards).

The statement from AMD discloses that the company has stopped bundling the “AMD Gaming Evolved App” by Raptr since the 12th of September, but that the application still works. Previous versions of the app will remain intact unless manually deleted by the user.

We’re not sure if this will turn consumers away from the brand, as rumours indicate new products are in the pipeline! Word is that AMD is planning on refreshes to their Polaris cards, meaning we might see RX 465, 475 and 485 soon, with better performance per watt and probably better value.
