Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon is currently in the works to come up with a software that can read medical reports and come up with suggestions to improve treatment or save money.

The software is meant to scan medical files in order to attain relevant information, for example, the medical condition and patient procedure and prescription. According to the report by WSJ, Amazon claims to train its system to recognize the idiosyncrasies in how medical personnel take notes.

“The service will ‘read’ the text and then identify and return the medical information contained within it,” Amazon said in a blog post Tuesday.
