Today is a special day for AirAsia as it marks the first ever foray for the airliner into eSports; indeed, it’s true that AirAsia now sponsors Team Mineski. Specifically, it is the special sponsor and exclusive airline partner of Mineski Pro Team.

Well-known the world over, this team is one of the very best for Defense of the Ancients 2 (DotA 2) in the ASEAN region. In fact, it currently ranks 5th in the DotA 2 Pro Circuit with a score of 810 qualifying points for the upcoming The International 2018.
The team comprises Malaysians Mushi and NaNa, Singaporeans IceIceIce and Jabz, as well as Philippines-based Ninjaboogie.

AirAsia will sponsor Team Mineski for one year as per the big shout out press event that it organised at Genting International Convention Centre (GICC). This , of course, had been on the sidelines of ESL One Genting 2018.
Mineski Pro Team Vice President, Orrin Xu, adds: “Mineski Pro Team is super excited to announce this partnership with AirAsia. As the leading low-cost carrier for this region, it’s the perfect partner for the team and our fans!”
As a truly ASEAN airline, AirAsia always commits itself to supporting the region’s top talents. In fact, Ben Rynjah, Regiona Branding Manager for AirAsia, shares how the airliner is very thrilled to be able to get involved with eSports champions like Mineski Team Pro.
“It feels like sponsoring a football team in so many ways,” he reveals.

This sponsorship also reaffirms AirAsia’s commitment to creating new and exciting engagement with millennials and Generation Z; all of whom epitomise the incredible potential that defines the ASEAN region.
