Zoom Communications Inc has unveiled AI Companion 3.0 at its annual Zoomtopia 2025 conference in Singapore, introducing advanced agentic AI features across Zoom Workplace and Zoom Business Services. The new platform is designed to turn conversations into actionable insights, automate tasks, and enhance productivity for teams and businesses globally.
Founder and CEO Eric S. Yuan said the AI Companion 3.0 can understand users’ specific context, priorities, and goals, helping them focus on critical tasks and drive meaningful business outcomes. The system integrates internal enterprise knowledge with external insights, including market research and industry data, to deliver real-time intelligence.
AI Companion 3.0 introduces intelligent work surfaces in web browsers and the Zoom Workplace desktop app, allowing users to synthesise information from meetings, chats, emails, and third-party apps. New features include AI-driven note-taking for Zoom and other platforms, advanced writing assistance, and deep research capabilities, enabling users to generate data-driven reports and polished documents efficiently.
For businesses, Zoom Business Services now features agentic AI for Customer Experience (CX) and Zoom Virtual Agent (ZVA). Innovations include automating support agent tasks, extracting actionable insights from customer data, and introducing “bring your own voice” for consistent, branded interactions. The Zoom Revenue Accelerator also leverages AI to streamline prospecting, follow-ups, and scheduling across multiple communication channels.
Organisations seeking tailored solutions can deploy Custom AI Companion, a low-code platform that allows administrators to create AI agents customised to business needs. The add-on will be available at US$12 per user, per month, while AI Companion 3.0 will be generally available with paid Zoom Workplace accounts in November 2025 at no extra cost.
Additional updates announced at Zoomtopia include lifelike meeting avatars, real-time voice translation for meetings, presentation clip generation, and support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent2Agent (A2A) workflows. Zoom highlighted its translation capabilities as outperforming competitors in accuracy for English-to-French and English-to-Spanish captions.
Zoom’s focus is on an AI-first work platform, combining intelligent collaboration tools with Business Services for sales, marketing, and customer experience, reinforcing the company’s mission to enhance productivity and connections across organisations worldwide.
