At an event at Nu Sentral, Acer has introduced their new gaming laptop, The Predator Triton 500. The it variant is already available for purchase at Acer’s official stores, as well as the official online channels. It is being touted as a True Thin and Light laptop. The Triton 500 is 17.9 mm thin and weighs 2.1kg but still features a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 6 GB dedicated VRAM.

The Predator Triton 500 also has a 15.6″ 300nits FHD IPS display, and has a 144 Hz refresh rate. With the 144 Hz rate, it really made things look smooth when I played with it at the event. Even just scrolling through menus and screens felt different. There are multiple software integrations on the laptop that control parts of the experience. From the PredatorSense software, you can control the keyboard lights, fan control, or if you wanted to overclock the GPU.

Being as thin, and as powerful as it is, the Predator Triton 500 seems to be the real deal.
Other specs include 512 GB SSD, 2 x 8 GB DDR4 RAM (16 GB RAM) and Intel Core i5-8300H. Based on intial impressions, the thinness of the laptop really came into play. The whole package actually, seems to have been tailored to be for the gamer on the go. Even the Power adapter is actually quite small for a gaming laptop.
The price for the i5-8300H variant is RM 6799 and is the only model currently available. The i7-8750H models will release sometime in April. The Triton 500 is available for purchase now at official Acer Stores or at Official Online Channels nationwide. If you’re interested in the laptop, do check it out here
