Launched during the recently announced CES, the new Honor 6X is now available for consumers in Malaysia. The company is keeping true to its commitment in bringing in affordable yet powerful smartphones under its X-series lineup. The Honor 6X was originally launched in China before the introduction globally at CES.
Underneath the 5.5-inch 1080p display smartphone is Huawei’s own HiSilicon chip – the Kirin 655 eight-core processor that promises an unmatched processing power when compared to its peers. It is also available with storage up to 64GB and 4GBs of RAM – more than enough for any memory-hungry apps out there. Plus, you can get more storage by swapping the second SIM slot with a microSD card – up to 256GB.
The outstanding feature of this smartphone however is the dual-camera system, which uses two sensors to create images with better depth information that translates to a better blurring effect when needed by the user. The first camera sensor is a 12-megapixel sensor, and is aided by a 2-megapixel sensor that acts as a depth information recorder – so that one can create images with good bokeh even while they are on the go. All of these is possible tanks to the Sony IMX386 sensor, which has a 1.25um pixel size.
Powering everything is a 3340mAh battery that can last for a whole day, thanks to Honor’s enhanced power management system that actively helps reduce power consumption when the phone does not need it.
“We are pleased to introduce the Honor 6X to our Malaysian consumers today – the new budget-friendly but powerful device reflects Honor as a young, energetic, and internet-centric brand. We are especially proud of the device’s innovative dual camera system, generous screen size, and expanded battery capacity. The Honor 6X has been crafted with our target market’s needs in mind and brings in uncompromised quality that provides double the enjoyment with competitive pricing. Users will not have to compromise on price and flagship qualities with the Honor 6X. This device is truly the ideal companion for digital natives and their adventurous lifestyles,” says Allen An, the E-Commerce Director of Honor Malaysia.
The phablet comes in three colours of Grey, Silver, and Gold with a price of RM1199 for 3GB RAM + 32GB storage space and RM1399 for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage space. The 32GB version is now available, while the 64GB will be available from early March. It can be purchased from Honor Malaysia’s official e-commerce partner, Lazada, as well as retail partners at DirectD, SenHeng Malaysia, and Honor’s Concept Store at Plaza Lowyat.
