CapCut has announced a partnership with Google Gemini that will allow users to edit images and videos directly within the Gemini app using CapCut’s creative editing tools.
The collaboration marks a deeper integration between AI assistants and content creation platforms as companies race to make creative workflows more seamless and conversational.
According to CapCut, the integration will enable Gemini users to access advanced editing capabilities without leaving the app, combining AI-driven interactions with video and image production tools.
The company said the partnership reflects a broader shift towards “more conversational, intuitive, and intelligently integrated” creative experiences across digital platforms.
The announcement also signals growing competition in the AI-powered creator economy, where technology firms are increasingly embedding editing, design and multimedia generation features directly into AI assistants and productivity ecosystems.
CapCut, owned by ByteDance, has become one of the world’s most widely used mobile editing applications, particularly among short-form video creators on platforms such as TikTok.
The companies did not disclose a launch timeline for the integration, but CapCut said the rollout was “just the beginning” of broader connected AI creation experiences.
