Diablo IV Opens Season 11 Public Test Realm With Major System Changes

Blizzard Entertainment will launch the Season 11 Public Test Realm (PTR) for Diablo IV on October 22 AEST/UTC+8 for PC via Battle.net.

Season 11 introduces permanent changes to core systems, including itemisation, monster combat and progression, laying the groundwork for future updates. Unique to this season is the Divine Power Infusion through Sanctification and the return of Diablo’s iconic Lesser Evils, with Azmodan debuting as a World Boss.

Players will encounter Duriel, Belial and Andariel with new mechanics across different game modes. Duriel corrupts Helltide using parasitic maggots and summoning techniques, Belial manipulates The Pit with illusions and boss replacements, while Andariel haunts Kurast Undercity with time-draining Shades and dungeon affixes. Azmodan can be summoned via Beacons.

Season 11 also brings Sanctification, allowing players to imbue items with bonus legendary powers and affixes. The itemisation overhaul introduces Tempering, letting players select specific affixes through recipes and Masterworking, which increases item quality.

The monster combat system has been redesigned for smarter, more tactical behaviour, with clearer enemy roles, improved affix variety and dynamic combat responses.

A BETA version of The Tower and Leaderboards will be included, featuring a timed dungeon challenge across multiple floors. Players have ten minutes to complete floors, defeat a final boss and earn placement on the Leaderboards.

The PTR will serve as a testing ground for players to experience these major updates ahead of the official Season 11 launch.
