Blizzard Entertainment has announced a series of major updates for Overwatch 2 in 2025, marking one of the game’s most significant years yet. The updates, revealed in the Overwatch 2 Spotlight keynote video, introduce core gameplay changes, including hero-specific Perks, Hero Bans, and Map Voting.

Blizzard described Perks as “the most significant innovation to core gameplay since Overwatch first launched in 2016.” Other highlights include the return of Loot Boxes, new Mythic Skins for Zenyatta, Juno, D.Va, Mercy, Reaper, and Widowmaker, and Stadium, the biggest individual mode in the game’s history.

The next era of Overwatch 2 begins with Season 15, launching on Feb 19, (AEDT/UTC+8), with more updates set to roll out throughout the year.
