Panasonic Malaysia has recently hosted the prestigious AG-AF102 AVCCAM seminar, which is a first for local aspiring local filmmakers to learn about the high-end production workflow of digital film production. It marked the first time that a industry-standard training course is being held, which is poised to help grow a generation of movie makers that are better equipped, and to cater to the growing demand of high-definition digital entertainment in Malaysia.
The Panasonic AG-AF102 AVCCAM seminar was conducted by renowned Director of Photography from Hollywood, Matthew J. Siegel who conducted a hands-on seminar on the flexibility and different shooting styles with the AG-AF102. Matt Siegel also introduced the latest technologies in tapeless HD recording by utilising cost-effective SDHC and SDXC media, made possible by Panasonic’s very own AVCHD file format.
“It is exciting to conduct this seminar with a group of passionate filmmakers who are brimming with potential. What makes it all the more exciting is demonstrating the flexibility of the Panasonic AG-AF102 AVCCAM, allowing users to achieve different effects and push their creativity. The low price will make this camera extremely popular in Malaysia,” said Matt Siegel.
Tailor-made for the video and film production market, the Panasonic AG-AF102 delivers the best in flexibility and value, as it is compatible with a wide array of Micro Four Third lenses, filters and adapters. Capable of recording in both 1080p and 720p, it offers superior video handling, variable frame rates, professional lossless audio capabilities and compatibility with both SDHC and SDXC storage cards.
“Many filmmakers today own a DSLR that is capable of 1080p movie recording. Unfortunately, DSLRs cannot produce broadcast quality output, despite their flexibility, affordability and beautiful bokeh. The AF102 offers a shooting experience that is far superior to HD recording on a DSLR. This is achieved by smartly combining beautiful bokeh and film-like effects from specialty lenses with broadcast quality output, all in an affordable package that does not cost as much as the equipment used in big-budget productions.” said Lim Conn Ing, Panasonic Malaysia’s AVCCAM Specialist.
The AG-AF102 is equipped with an interchangeable lens mount that affords users the capability to use a wide array of lenses that are low cost and widely available in the market. The AG-AF102’s Micro four Thirds sensor design means that users get the same depth of field and field-of-view that is akin to using a 35mm movie camera at a more attractive price range.
The Panasonic AG-AF102 is now available at a retail price of RM15,999 for the body alone.
