Facebook Adds New ‘Dating’ Feature?

Facebook has developed a new feature that could be compared with a few dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble, which involves asking the users if they’d like to meet up with certain friends.

If both sides respond positively, Facebook will encourage you to strike up a conversation on Messenger. However, if one of you selects the ‘No’ option, the process will stop there.

It is still unclear as to what the feature is called, or even if it was designed specifically with dating in mind, but Facebook has confirmed that it is still being tested on iOS and Android in Toronto and New Zealand.

According to Jacob Dubé from Motherboard, the feature is different from Tinder, by not just matching the users to potential love interests, but also displayed some of the user’s Facebook friends.

While this new feature seems like fun, it may even be potentially dangerous. For example, if a user chooses to ‘meet up’ with someone and turned out badly, it’s easy to guess what would happen next.
