Always looking forward to new Nintendo Switch news and updates but I have yet to actually own one myself (insert sad face emoji).

Anyways, according to a report by Bloomberg, it is said that an upgraded Nintendo Switch model is reportedly planned to be released in next year in 2021. People familiar with the matter told the news agency that the updated video game console will be accompanied by a new line-up of games that would support and exhibit its new capabilities.

The report stated that the company had been looking to include more processing power, as well as 4 K support to compete with its competitors, namely the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Sources added that Nintendo had yet to finalise the exact specifications for the upgraded Switch model.

So do we have a date for when these new bad boys will get to see the light of day? Hold your horses there because production of the new device would only begin sometime next year, as its partners are currently busy manufacturing the current models. No worries, we’ll wait. 

Since its debut of two variations of its current gene video game console – the Switch and the Switch Lite – Nintendo has recently resolved its production bottleneck, which previously hampered the company’s ability to meet strong global demands for both models.

Just earlier this year, an alleged ‘Pro’ console version was rumoured to be in development and would also include better hardware and 4 K support so this is actually not the first time an upgraded Nintendo Switch ‘s news has circulated throughout the industry.

Shuntaro Furukawa, CEO of Nintendo, shot down the rumour, saying the company has no plans to launch an upgraded model by 2020. That said, on the other hand, it’s not completely ruled out the possibility of this alleged new model to see a release in the next year.
