This just in- another Covid-19 cluster has emerged right here in the city centre, Brickfields closely situated with KL Sentral with large multinational offices, is now on outbreak alert.

Brickfields joins Sepang and another cluster in Sarawak adding the tally to three clusters recorded in just one day. The Sepang cluster has been identified to originate from workers quarters while Brickfields is said to be from a restaurant. MOH officials have already started testing patrons who visited the place, conducting 250 tests among which 14 were staffs. 2 Indian nationals were detected with Covid-19 and investigation is currently underway on the origin of this cluster.

A thriving hotbed of activities, the location is close to city centre and densely populated with foreign nationals, locals and offices. Brickfields also known as Little India has a large Indian population with many foreigners seen working in restaurants and mini sundry shops catering to the community. These workers are often seen mingling in groups and live in tiny apartments or spaces above the shops.

Banana leaf enthusiasts, it will be advisable to be cautious heading into the area as testing is still ongoing with no indication on the extent of infection.
