ALL Restaurants, Hypermarkets & Convenience Stores In Selangor Must Close Shop By Midnight Under New Rules added to Movement Control Order

With the federal government’s Movement Control Order (MCO) not being enough to deter people from going out, state governments are taking matters into their own hands by implementing additional rules to the MCO. Pahang was the first to implement additional measures by only allowing shops to open from 7am to 7pm starting today and it looks like Selangor is following suit.

The Selangor state government has announced some new measures to control the spread of Covid-19. Under the new list of rules, pretty much everything is required to close by midnight. This includes eateries such as food stalls and restaurants who are only allowed to be open from 6am to midnight, as well as hypermarkets and convenience stores, parcel, food and raw material deliveries. That’s right, you won’t be able to get anything after 12 am.

If you’re wondering what the situation is like for public and wholesale markets, well.. the list allows for them to be in operation from 5am to 4pm but night markets and farmers markets will not be allowed. Other shops such as car workshops and towing services will be allowed to operate between 9am and 4pm while launderettes and car washes are not allowed to even open. Petrol stations will operate as usual.

Do take note of these changes, as you don’t want to head out of the house only to find everything closed and be questioned by the police. If you’re the type that’s constantly going on supper runs, it’s best you get that done before 12am.

It is also worth noting that only one representative of a family is allowed to go out to purchase the daily essential under the MCO, so keep that in mind.
