The first of many items showcased on CES is AMD’s first high-performance system-on-a-chip (SoC) and next-generation Mobile APU codenamed ‘Carizzo’. Expected in market by mid-year, ‘Carrizo’ has been designed for both modern consumer computing habits and the needs of IT departments – a platform built for an always-on, media-centric and productivity-centric lifestyle with support for next-generation APIs such as DirectX 12, OpenCL 2.0, and the forthcoming Windows 10 operating system.

In the gaming department, AMD is putting an emphasis on 4K gaming by showcasing the power of AMD’s own Radeon R9 graphics and Eyefinity technology. Besides that, AMD is also showcasing their FreeSync technology that enables an improved gaming experience through dynamic refresh rates that are synchronized to the frame rate of AMD Radeon graphics card and APUs.

QNAP, a leading provider of network attached storage (NAS) systems, will also be announcing that their new new TVS-x63 platform will be powered by AMD’s Embedded G-Series SoC. Apart from that, AMD will also be demoing various embedded solutions powered by AMD Embedded processors, including the Gizmo 2.
