With a smartphone/laptop hybrid as well as wireless charging technology, Razer has done no wrong at CES 2018 so far. The latest introduction is the Razer Nommo Speaker Line, suitable for movies, music and gaming.
There are two variants of the Razer Nommo Speaker Line, one that comes with a subwoofer and another that just features its speakers. The main highlight of the Razer Nommo Speaker Line is its positional audio technology, being able to sense environmental factors. This means that the speakers are calibrated with true left and right stereo imaging to aid gamers in knowing which direction sounds are coming from.
Razer Nommo Pro
The bigger and badder of the two, the Razer Nommo Pro is a 2.1 speaker with exceptional audio range, clarity and depth. It’s THX certification also means it has the highest standards for cinematic sound, giving it a huge advantage. To raise the bar even higher, the speakers house Dolby Virtual Speaker technology with simulated 5.1 surround sound.
As this speaker system comes with a cylindrical downward firing subwoofer, it will project consistent and deep tones via its airflow. The drivers of the speakers are coated with Dupont Kevlar, projecting solid mids while its silk-woven independent tweeters produce smooth and balanced highs. The Razer Nommo Pro features plenty of connectivity options from Bluetooth, USB and optical to even a 3.5mm jack. There is also a control pod, keeping volume, source control and a headphone jack within your reach.
With the help of Razer Synapse 3 (beta), you now have control over the speaker system’s EQ settings and bass levels. There is also a “Nommo Pro” app available on both Android and iOS, which you then can play your own music from your phone and have them firing out through the speakers, all through Bluetooth. The speakers also feature Razer Chroma with all 16.8 million colours of goodness.
Currently, there are no updates on the availability of the Razer Nommo Pro but it will come with a price tag of US$499.99 (approx. RM1,994.96).
Razer Nommo
More of your everyday setup, the Razer Nommo is a 2.0 speaker system that is capable of bringing out full range sound. The drivers are custom-woven 3-inch glass fibre, providing ample power and clarity with elongated rear-firing bass ports. This will help to reduce the level of distortion at high volumes while churning out stronger bass.
To keep the integrity of the bass intact, Razer includes Automatic Gain Control, which allows you to control the bass levels. This will also help to adjust EQ settings to boost its clarity at lower bass levels while keeping balanced highs and lows at higher bass levels.
The Razer Nommo comes in two versions, the normal speakers for plebs and noobs and the Razer Nommo Chroma for the affluent plebs and noobs (I kid, of course). The Razer Nommo Chrome comes built-in with USB connectivity and a a digital-to-analog converter (DAC).
Both the Razer Nommo and Nommo Chroma are now available on Razer’s website at RM529 and RM799 respectively.
