Huawei Chairman Schedules Livestream Session, Involves Coffee

When the going get tough, the tough gets going. This must be the chant Huawei executives dishing out over the loud speakers to their thousands of employees, who are wondering the fate of the company and more importantly their jobs.

But this is an unlikely scenario at the moment, Huawei is well resourced and is sitting on a whole pile of cash, thanks to its years of success and the high volume sales of its smartphones. Founded by the dynamic Ren Zhengfai who grew the company from a network equipment provider to the number one telecommunication company in the world, has had enough with the accusation leveled by Donald Trump and his Government on the claims that Huawei cannot be trusted and in fact is a spying tool for the Chinese government. After taking in months of slander (there is still no proof provided by the CIA or any agencies) the Shenzhen based firm has started to issue counter statements and rebuttals. Even when the daughter of the Chairman was arrested at the Canadian airport, Ren was calm and composed, claiming they were politically motivated. However his patience seems to have run dry, the former general must have been given the green light by Beijing to let it lose and proceed with recourse against the US, ending all diplomacy talks.

Even Buddha Loses His Patients

There is an old Chinese saying, that even Buddha can run out of patience, this is what Ren must be telling himself right now. Huawei the company he build to a multi-billion international telecommunication company, is dear to him and its unlikely that he will let it go down without a fight. The Chairman has been seen coming out in the open more and from the likes of it, he’s no longer waiting for US to dictate terms and instead has chosen to hit back. This will be only his second time going on live show to speak with journalist or this time “Special Guests” as stated in the invitation. Be it a candid interview or staged, Ren will not be holding back, it’s all or nothing for Huawei, the implication indicted by the US Justice Department has serious repercussions, far reaching effects. Even overseas branches are feeling the impact, in Malaysia one only needs to visit any of the Huawei stores and can see that the low visitor count is quite obvious.

Its not just the phones, bigger at stake is 5G and the billions already invested to roll this out on a mass scale. Without US’s consent, it will be a tough call for any organisations to move forward. If the President decides to stop all American content providers in supporting Huawei equipped operators or countries the result can be devastating for everyone, and we know the dude is capable to something as far fetched as this.

Anyway, we can hyperbole a 1000 possibilities with all sorts of outcomes, however for the betterment of society at large that will benefit from the advancement of technology, level heads should prevail and amicable solutions should be derived.
