Some of Mark Zuckerberg’s old posts on Facebook have vanished as of late. These posts have ties to the history, and chronicles what changes and the important moments of the social media company. This includes all posts from 2007 to 2008. Business Insider reached out to a Facebook spokesperson and they had this to say:
“A few years ago some of Mark’s posts were mistakenly deleted due to technical errors. The work required to restore them would have been extensive and not guaranteed to be successful so we didn’t do it,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
“We agree people should be able to find information about past announcements and major company news, which is why for years we’ve shared and archived this information publicly – first on our blog and in recent years on our Newsroom.”
Facebook has been rife with scandal as of late, but this news doesn’t seem to make much sense. Why would they mistakenly delete something from 11 years ago? Or access that information even. But with the mass amounts of posts and content are on Facebook, it’s hard to know how much is actually missing.
The more important posts were those involved in 2006 and 2009. Zuckerberg regularly posted on the site, but there are no visible posts. Maybe there’s something he’s hiding? I know I have stuff on Facebook and all my social media sites which I’m not proud of.
But what do you guys think? Is it just an error because some IT guys screwed up? Or is there something sinister behind these deletions. Let us know in the comments!
