The backbone of a multi-player home gaming system is the router. And Razer claims they have the fastest home networking solution for you. The premium gaming brand has consistently put out high-end peripherals that are super focused on giving nothing but the best. Today, we will be taking a glance at the Razer Sila network router.

The key to a reliable network connection at home, is prioritization of bandwidth. Razer FasTrack is a feature that gives you control of your network speed and bandwidth. You can fine-tune which applications get priority or keep it simple with a Gaming Mode (which should give games more headway).

One of the biggest pains in today’s wireless world is channel congestion. To combat this, Razer introduces Multi-Channel ZeroWait DFS that switches you over to the least congested channel. Applying radar-sensing hardware that grants access to normally-restrictred channels, this should give the edge in high density locations where there are many Wi-Fi signals.

And if you have money to spare, get one or two more Razer Sila units and you can combine them into a Hybrid Wireless Mesh that would envelope your home completely. Up to three units will cover a range of 9,000 feet (roughly 2,700m), easily serving an area the size of a modest bungalow.

What’s all that power, without the ability to control it at your fingertips? The Razer Sila is partnered with an app (for Android or iOS) that lets you manage the router from your phone. Controls available on the app include guest network, security and parental controls.

Hardware wise, the Razer Sila has nine industrial-grade antennas for maximum coverage. On the back, it has one Gigabit WAN port, three Gigabit LAN ports as well as one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port.
