No, we don’t mean the gaming YouTube. This is normal YouTube.
I’ll admit, when I’m doing work at night, gaming YouTube is on and some form of music livestream will be on. But no – this is apparently normal YouTube.
So according to Endgadget, they’ve tested it out and it works. We ….. well this writer gave it a quick spin and so far I haven’t managed to get it to work just yet. Might need to fiddle around with the cookies and settings. Hmm.
If you managed to get it to work, you can binge watch YouTube videos in the dark without the white background blinding you.

Enabling the mode is supposedly fairly simple, provided you’re using an up-to-date Chrome browser. You’ll need to access the browser’s developer tools and paste in some text from the Tweet above, refresh your browser, and then toggle the mode on in the menu you get when you click on your avatar. You can easily turn the mode off, too, though you only have to use the console command once.
