Xiaomi copies designs like there is no shame besides the company probably feels its flattery. But who are we to judge, customers are snapping up the limited produced gadgets as soon as they are available.

After making available a smartphone based virtual reality headset last year, a newly redesigned Mi VR Play 2 is being introduced that does cost an arm or leg to consumers. Looking very similar to Google Daydream, the version 2 has just a few tweaks on design elements to make the headset lighter and more refined.

Using fabric as the cover wrap which Xiaomi calls “dragon’s cloth”,  it also ditched a zipper in a compartment where the smartphone is placed and added a clip-button instead. Mi VR Play 2 measures 129×191×120 mm and weighs 183 grams. It is compatible with 4.7 up to 5.7-inched smartphone and provides 1080p resolution for each eye, boasts of high refresh rate and 93-degree field of view.
