Late Monday night saw us chomping down on McD and waiting for the much anticipated announcement from Microsoft, which our readers have already had a sample of this morning, on the slew of offerings that has left our mouths salivating even after our meal.
Now more about the Microsoft’s latest additions, we take a look at two new wearables introduced by the leading tech company.
HoloLens
We have heard buzzes before that Microsoft is coming out with a holographic device and last night we saw the breathtaking HoloLens takes its stand.
It is the first fully untethered holographic computer. For gamers, what this means is it functions as a wearable holographic lens that turns your living room into a battle arena or a village on Minecraft. The HoloLens can detect your physical surrounding and incorporate it into your gaming experience.
Powered by Windows 10, HoloLens creates a never-before experience that will promote advancement in many areas, such as education, design, healthcare and entertainment.
Starting today, Microsoft is inviting applications for the Microsoft HoloLens Development Edition, which will start shipping in the first quarter of 2016 for US$3,000.

Microsoft Band 2
Another product that is coming your way is the Microsoft Band 2, a fitness wearable designed for health-enthusiasts out there. The band is designed with a slim, curved display, which should provide a more comfortable wear.
It comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and colour AMOLED display to give you a crisp image and Cortana8 enables you to complete tasks with a touch of a button. Reply to texts or set reminders while you’re working out or away from your phone and get your notifications at a glance.
Besides that, reach your fitness or health goal by tracking your heart rate, calorie burn and sleep quality. These data are usable and crunchable to help tailor your fitness or health regime at an optimal level, so that you can achieve more with the Microsoft Band 2.
Ever fancy learning how to play golf? Or want to get tips from other runners and cyclists? The Microsoft Band 2 also allows you do all this by connecting you to your favourite apps and Microsoft partners, such as TaylorMade and Strava. You can even pay for your coffee at Starbucks with a quick scan on your wrist.
Now, being healthier and productive is easier with the Microsoft Band 2. Coupled with Microsoft Health, the IoT technology, which can last for two days before you have to plug in the charger again, will help you attain your goals like never before.
The best news is, Microsoft Band 2 can work on multiple platforms; be it on iPhone, Android or Windows phone. So, you don’t have to worry about compatibility with non-Windows smartphones.
The band is now available for pre-order at US$249.99, although we will have to wait for it to come to Malaysia.
