Vivo Malaysia has sent out invitation to the press announcing the launch date for their newest iteration of smartphone Vivo V5.
There is also a reason V4 is not used for the new model, as the numerical association with that number in Chinese beliefs is not preferred as it is often thought to be unlucky and is homophonous to the word death. A taboo subject is often avoided in naming buildings and houses even here. As for the phone, by the looks of the marketing teasers on the phones social site the push is for the front facing camera targeting the selfie fans. Like OPPO F1s which went completely topsy turvy with the camera, giving prominence to the secondary camera instead of the primary, could we see similar approach from Vivo? We will just have to wait.

Vivo has been steadily growing market presence globally, and has a firm following in Malaysia, V3, V3 Max and Y55 are all releases that have garnered good response from users with having minimal issues. The launch is seeing the arrival slightly later compared to other countries like India which will debut on the 15th.
