Add another stylish accessory for your smart devices with the ZenPower Ultra from ASUS. Apart from having a beautiful metallic design, the ZenPower Ultra is packed with conveniences that enable you to charge your devices several times over with its 20100mAh battery and dual USB ports to charge two devices at the same time.

Included in the package is a micro USB cable and a portable pouch to protect it from dust and scratches. The ASUS ZenPower Ultra comes available in black, silver and pink – just guess which colour we got sent. Take a gander of how this power-packed gadget fair in our test lab.

Heavyweight

The body of the ZenPower Ultra is encased by sturdy anodised aluminium that can withstand a drop up to 80cm, though I would fear for your floor (or your toes) if it were to hit the ground. Its body is relatively sleek for its battery capacity, but when you’re thinking of a powerbank that is meant to be brought around with you, its weight is considerably hefty.

Take Charge

Unlike many other powerbanks in the market, you actually need to press the power button in order to start charging. It also has a built-in high luminance LED that lasts over 100 hours, which turns on when you press the power button for more than five seconds. It turns off when you press it again for another five seconds.

The ZenPower Ultra features the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 that is meant to charge up to 1.75 times faster. However, the time it takes to fully-charge your devices from 0% to 100% differs, depending on the cable that you use.

After testing the powerbank on an iPhone 6S Plus, it took about three hours to charge the phone from 0% to 100%, while it was turned off. In my opinion, it was a bit slow. Meanwhile, the average time it takes to charge to full capacity ranges from 7.5 hours to 18 hours. Sounds like a terribly long time, but just imagine a long haul flight without one.
