17 Malaysian Artists In A 300-page Publication

Art hub G13 Gallery is set to introduce its latest venture, “The Artist’s Studio: Exploring the Workspace of 17 Malaysian Artists.”

Spearheaded by gallery director Kenny Teng, the 300-page publication offers an intimate glimpse into the creative realms of esteemed Malaysian artists.

The project, which took a year to curate, is a significant milestone for G13 Gallery, underscoring its commitment to promoting and celebrating the local art scene.

The publication delves into the inner sanctuaries of 17 distinguished Malaysian artists, including Anisa Abdullah, Chang Fee Ming, Chong Siew Ying, Dato’ Sharifah Fatimah, Fadilah Karim, and others.

Through in-depth Q&A sessions, readers are invited to explore how these spaces influence the intricate processes and artistic philosophies of each featured artist.

Famed writer and artist Fuad Arif lends his perspective on the intrinsic value of the artist’s studio, emphasizing its pivotal role as the birthplace of creativity, where ideas take shape and art finds its voice.

“The Artist’s Studio” serves as a testament to G13 Gallery’s enduring dedication to fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art world.

To complement the publication, a series of accompanying videos will provide a multimedia dimension to the artist’s studio exploration, enhancing the overall experience for art enthusiasts and aficionados.

As part of the commemoration, G13 Gallery is hosting an engaging group exhibition, showcasing artworks by the featured artists.

The exhibition offers a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts to engage with the artists’ works in person, providing a firsthand glimpse into their creative expressions and narratives.

The launch event for “The Artist’s Studio” and the accompanying group exhibition is scheduled for December 2, 2023, at G13 Gallery.

Art enthusiasts and the general public are encouraged to mark their calendars for this enriching artistic celebration, running from December 2 to 23, 2023.
