YouTube is No Longer for Videos but Also for Shopping Purposes

Peer pressure is real. Seeing other apps like Facebook and Instagram having their features to be broadened, YouTube surely wants to have some for themselves too.

The headlines are true. YouTube is currently testing out a shopping feature. Hence, the app is soon to be no longer for video watching purposes only but will also serve for business purposes. Personally, it is an interesting idea because YouTube is as we know, a video sharing platform hence more engagement and the promotion can be done in a more creative way.

The aim of the Youtube Shopping feature is to provide a unique new way for users to buy and sell items on their website. Through this feature, sellers get to list those things from their videos for users to purchase.

There will be a shopping bag icon on the video for the videos that have this feature working. To learn more about the products listed, users can click on this icon and also get some purchase options for said products.

For time being, the feature is only available and tested in United States and soon to be available in other countries depending on the success of it. This feature is not only available on the Youtube website, but also on the Youtube iOS and Android application.

The new shopping function would allow users not only to access Youtube items, but also to buy them directly via the app, creating a lot more revenue for them in the process.

Another feature that YouTube is working on is to make more from the hashtag features. Users may easily discover content using hashtags, either by clicking on a YouTube hashtags or by directly typing in a hashtag connection.

This year is believed to open a lot of digitalisation for businesses and YouTube to support business features ia surely a part of it. Soon, we cannot expect what features incoming but as long as it is beneficial for the general public, let’s see what we will be served with.
