Xiaomi has mad available the new operating software for its smartphones, MIUI 9 currently available with Mi 5X and arriving soon to RedMi and Mi smartphones in stages. Apart from visual difference from version 8, the modified android system sees much customisation option for the user this time around.

Some of the new features include a split screen option, new themes, and a different lock screen design. The company also promises faster application launch in what it calls dynamic resource allocation which enables the OS to analyse on the apps that are running and spread the load among the cores to more accurately keep the system running smoothly. There are also various other application in the system optimisation panel, depending on where the boost is required for the moment users can channel the resource to that particular function. Another addition is the speech recognising Smart Assistant— an enhanced search algorithm that enables users to find any information or file in the smartphone. It also has a mind on its own, for  example, you are chatting with a friend about an upcoming trip, the app will recognise the topic, based on the nouns and verbs you use, and will offer to check Google Maps or a hotel booking app.
