In Barcelona Xiaomi announced their first 5G capable device, the Mi MIX 3 5G, which will be available for purchase in May for RM 2765. The Mi MIX 3 will come with a Snapdragon 855 mobile platform as well as integrating the Quallcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem, it will be able to connect to sub 6-GHz signals. This makes it tens of times faster than 4G. Housed with a 3800mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 4+.
With a 6.39 inch display and no visible notch, the Mi MIX 3 5G comes with Xiaomi’s patented magnetic slider. It houses the front facing camera and creates an almost seamless, uniform screen to body ratio. The slider also can be programmed to answer calls or to start up the camera.
It also comes with a highly advanced hybrid cooling system. This means gaming, streaming, and any other processes you’re doing on your phone won’t heat up to nearly untouchable levels.
The Mi MIX 3 5G comes equipped with a 12MP AI dual camera setup from the previous iteration, the Mi MIX 3 with a DxO score of 108. 960 fps slow-motion video capable, and other AI features are also present in the Mi MIX 3 5G. On the front facing camera, it’s a 24 MP + 2MP dual camera setup, which will prove to take some pretty good selfies.
Also announced after the Mi MIX 3 5G was Xiaomi’s new flagship, the Mi 9 for global markets. The Mi 9 features an AI triple camera, 20W wireless charging, and is also equipped with the Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform. The Mi 9 will be available in Western Europe on 28th February.
The Mi 9 has a 6.39 inch 19:5:9 Samsung AMOLED display, with a built in screen fingerprint sensor.
The triple camera is the first Xiaomis phone with the setup. The first camera shoots at 48-megapixels, the second is a 16 megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera.
