But with industry players quickening their innovation process, Qualcomm and Netgear has just announced the world’s first commercial Gigabit LTE network and device. Together with Telstra and backend system provider Ericcson, all four parties were able to showcase live experience on the network dubbed the “Gigabit LTE Experience” at an event in Sydney, with more state capital city or CBDs, to follow.

The Gigabit LTE Netgear device, Nighthawk M1, will be made available to consumers in Australia in late February, 2017. The newly-launched service will deliver extremely fast access to content, 4k/HD video streaming and even faster access to enterprise applications and business-critical data. After reaching top download speed of 600Mbps, Telstra now further extends its global network capability with Gigabit LTE. Reaching speeds up to 1Gbps, its also about up-link which can reach up t 150Mbps, these features and capabilities important steps to evolve towards 5G network.
