All workers who are contributing to SOCSO can receive free Covid 19 screening when they get back to work after the MCO is lifted, this was conveyed by Minister of International Trade and Industry, Azmin Ali in a special telecast today.
This is a positive initiative from the Government in getting SOCSO to agree in funding for employees irrespective of their background. This will elevate the level of screening in the country and at the same time ease the burden of employees who would have insisted to have their staffs screened. The move comes amidst the Minister announcing on guidelines that will be given for certain sectors to get to work during the MCO phase 3.
For those who have been seeking to get themselves screened, private hospital have been charging anywhere between RM400-700 while government hospitals have not offered any screening services as yet. It is not clear if SOCSO will insist on employees getting the tests done from their list of test labs or employees will be given option to visit any centres including private hospitals.
Whatever the terms, the offer will be accepted welcomingly by the millions of workers in the country who can sleep peacefully knowing if that they have tested and their close colleagues have also been tested.
