Work-from-home edition: The Oppo Reno3 Pro Review

The Oppo Reno3 Pro, one of the latest offering by Oppo, making it one of the brand’s big league additions that hopes to attracts long-time fans with its capable camera and lightweight feel. However, the smartphone model has definitely more to offer and before we jump into the its best offering, the camera, the phone has definitely left an everlasting mark with its quick charging capabilities.

As the phone was reviewed during the MCO period, I had used it the same way I would use a phone at work but this time around it was work-from-home.  Due credit has to be given to its snap charging capabilities and as anyone would necessarily use their phones even more so during the work-from-home period to make calls, receive calls and even to a certain extent, video chats as well.

Offering the best of Quick-Charging

On a full charge and depending on how much one would be using the camera in a day, the phone has proven to last for at least two days on mediocre usage on one charge. However, if your work requires you to have the phone on standby all-day long and if you’re like me, phone is basically where all the work is as well as all the social media scrolling, worry not, the phone charges to more than 50% in less than 15 mins.

The model comes with a  4,025mAh battery that supports the 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 on the Reno3 Pro and it also comes with a new constant-voltage charge algorithm that helps to stabilise the charge voltage for enhanced safety.

This would definitely be useful for users who are constantly working on their phone especially during the working from home period.

The Reno 3 Pro fits perfectly into this bracket as it allows for a seamless experience in executing all the necessary functions. With a remarkable design and being bezel-less, you will be sure to experience the best way to call family and friends on video. At one point, I had even used the phone to make Skype video chats with the team back in the office and it went really well.

Snap Away

Of course, this was also made possible with the remarkable cameras that Oppo had fitted into its latest offering. The Reno3 Pro comes with a quad camera system that is anchored by a 64MP F/1.8 camera that produces a better clarity compared to Oppo’s previous models, presenting an upgrade from Oppo to its long-time users.

The camera also works alongside an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera that offers up to 120 degrees of compositional freedom, a 13 MP telephoto zoom lens and a 2MP mono lens.

For selfie lovers, the Reno3 Pro comes with a dual punch-hole camera setup offering a 44MP Ultra-clear Main Camera, as well as a 2MP Depth of Field lens. This has allowed me to take high-definition MCO selfies.

Fun Fact: the Reno3 Pro front camera system is the first device with Dual Lens Bokeh, allowing for better image matting and background gradient for selfies either taken alone or in a group.

Peak visuals and entertainment platform

If you are looking to get the phone for entertainment wise, I have tried watching Netflix on it and the phone does not compromise in offering an excellent visual offerings as it supports the 1080P streaming which means  HD quality streaming anytime and anywhere. This also applies even for gamers, if you have already been playing games that require better performance, the Reno3 Pro comes up to that mark as well.

The RenO3 Pro offers a gaming experience with up to 16 percent better touch performance as well up to 38 percent increase in frames-per-second, so if you are wondering if the Reno3 Pro will be able to keep support both PUBG and Mobile Legends during a face-off, its definitely does.

As for navigation, the model offers a decent Android experience, it doesn’t quite match up with its Samsung counterparts and while the design might suit long-time Oppo fans, it might take more than just excellent camera and quick charging to convert die-hard Samsung fans to pick up the Reno3 Pro.

However, Oppo’s latest addition proves that it is working its way up to compete with the big boys in the field while maintaining the Oppo signature in its making.

The OPPO Reno3 Pro will be available at RM 2399 in Auroral Blue and Midnight Black.
