“Where’s That Again?”: Uber Let’s You Save Places So You Don’t Have To Keep Asking For Address

Uber is adding a Saved Places feature – so you don’t have to keep asking for the address to your favourite restaurant, hangout place, friend’s house…

Saved Places allows you to bookmark addresses that matter so you can get to places faster – without needing to ask for addresses or Google (again!). Riders can name the saved addresses, including with emojis.

How does it work? Uber wrote this:

“Once en route to a favourite place, riders should look for the option to save that address in the Uber feed.  To access a saved address, tap “Where to?”, and then “more saved places” and select from the list. A rider’s Saved Places will even start to show up on their home screen “shortcuts” if we predict that’s where they could be going, so they can get moving with just one tap.”

In earlier testing, Uber noted that riders said  airports, hotels, and colleges are among the top use cases for this feature. Less expected however, users also mentioned their favourite taco and bagel shops, Grandma’s house, karaoke, and even jiu-jitsu as other places they would save.

The feature is available today to US riders on both iOS and Android, and is expected to roll out internationally later this year.
