One of the most popular maps and traffic apps now has a new look. The developer calls it a brand new Waze experience. You will get a cleaner, simpler design that makes for easier reporting, navigation and sharing.

Firstly, less taps are needed now to access the features on the app so that you can drive more comfortably and safely while using Waze. The left button would give the navigation menu and the right button access your contacts. The center button let you know your estimated time of arrival and you can pull it up to add a stop, view alternate route or let someone know you’re on the way.

Waze works better because of the reports users send about the traffic condition and this is also one of the reason it is so popular. Now, the reporting menu has been redesigned with bolder, more colour-coded icons. There is a big orange button on the right to access the reporting menu, so that you can find it easily while driving.

And if you sync the app to your calendar, it will give you reminders to leave on time based on traffic. It’s like having your own personal assistance, or nagging mom.
The best improvement from Waze probably is the reduced battery consumption by the app. We have to see, of course, how significant the decrease is but if this holds true, then many users who rely on the app for their daily commute will be very glad to hear it.
So download the app now from your Apple Store or iTunes. Android users will have to wait for a little bit more for the update to come to their phones.
